A friend offered this amp for repair. Only 3, 5V came at the output which was less then expencted from an amp with estimated power of 50 Watts. After measurements it came out the power tetrodes were driven the right way and also emission was ok. It has no fixed bias so emission is easy to measure on cathode resistors. Conclusion was the output transformer must have given up. I tested the unconnected transformer by putting 5V on the secondary, a tension much lower than its rating. At this voltage there was allready a current of 10 Amps. The transformer was definitely broken. I disassembled and unwound the transformer and counted the secondairy windings as there were few to count. The primary was too sticky to unwind properly but I could see green oxidation verifying damage. Then I rewound it. Rewinding is not such a big deal and the amp is left as original as possible. With an electronic screwdriver and pulse counter is goes fairly fast. Only thing is that you have to build a setup which holds the bobine and supply reel. Transformer laquer and insulation paper however are not easy to get. Now I have over 20V into 10 Ohm (I had no other dummy load) resulting in the estimated 50 Watts. The 807 tubes are in push pull configuration and run at 440V. Probably voltage is somewath higher because of the rectifier diodes. Really don't know what brand the amp is. It came in a DIY wooden cabinet. The mains transformer says "Bergmann Altona". Back to the owner now!
