How to do a factory reset an Android tablet when your start up screen is hanging. Some methods show how to reset from the operating system but in this instance you cannot get to the software it just shows the android screen. We will then have to get to the boot screen, not all tablets will give you a menu screen in boot mode, so once it is here simply allow it to reboot itself and your android tablet should now start up with factory default settings, simply reinstall your apps, and I am assuming you have stored your data on a cloud or an sd card

ClockworkMod Recovery, generally shortened to "CWM", is one of the most popular custom recoveries for Android-powered smartphones and tablets. Originally developed by Koushik Dutta, or "Koush", CWM lets power users do all kinds of really powerful tasks that aren't included in the stock recovery on most devices.
What are Images?
No, we're not talking about pretty pictures that are worth a thousand words, in this context an "image" is essentially a self-contained operating system. Most of us are familiar with the "System" image, it's the part of Android that we use every day. There is also another image, the Recovery image, that most users only see when they're installing an over-the-air (OTA) update, and then it's only seen for a minute or so. Power users, like you and I, can use the Recovery image for all sorts of things: advanced recovery, backups, restorations, and maintenance. With it was can flash custom ROMs and kernels, which are some of the most common reasons for installing CWM. What all can be done and what does it all look like? Let's take a look!
