Live long and Plaster
BTW, I'm applying Hanson's Lehigh's white cement mixed with sand give a tan appearance that lasts forever without having to paint.
I'm using Rapid Set plaster it cost more than Portland cement, but it's what I had on my truck.
How much sand for each coat of stucco? As a rule, Scratch coats are mixed at 1 part Portland cement plaster to 2-1/4 to 4 parts sand, brown coats are mixed at 1 part Portland cement plaster to 3 to 5 parts sand, and finish coats are 1 part cement to 1-1/2 to 3 parts sand.
FYI, mix ratios at this link, https://youtu.be/Kp_mJmg1p3M
FYI, most stucco and concrete mixes use Portland cement as a binder, for example. Concrete is used for driveways, sidewalks, bridges, etc.
Concrete mixes rocks with the Portland cement, thus, because of the rocks, can’t be applied by hawk and trowel to any wall.
Stucco combines fine sand with Portland cement, thus can be applied to walls as it's like a peanut butter consistency, no rocks in it.
O.K., here's the tricky part, many names for the same thing.
The terms or names are Cement Plaster, Stucco, Mortar, Mud in the US, in the UK, names for Exterior Stucco among others are Render and Muck.
"Warning: I make plastering look way easier than it actually is.”
FYI, If interested in the cement plaster or plastering tools we recommend visit our Amazon link at, http://www.stuccoplastering.com/tools
