Premiere Pro object removal with Opacity Masks (Garbage Mattes)

If you're used to using Garbage Mattes to draw masks around objects in video, then you might find Opacity Masks easier to use. Every clip comes with its own Opacity Mask and you can add as many masks as you need and invert them when you need to.
An added bonus is the ability to track the mask with moving objects.

Learn how to mask a subject and animate a still frame as an opening credit or intro sequence used in soaps. Watch the Adobe Premiere Pro tutorial video.
This week we'll experiment again with Adobe Premiere Pro as we're creating an intro sequence to introduce the actors before the film or series starts. What's so special about this tutorial is that we do everything inside Premiere Pro.
We'll start by masking out the actress as we like to have her come loose from the background. This creates a parallax effects which adds more dynamics as the clip will turn into a still with the frame hold option.
Once the subject is cut out, we can add a stroke around it. Unlike After Effects, we can't search for a stroke or edge effect in the library. We need to use the 'Paint Bucket' and change several settings to make it act like a proper stroke around the newly created transparent layer.
In the next step we'll animate a slight scale movement on the actress and add a name tag next to her. As we have two layers, we can animate the name tag from behind her. Always make sure to create smooth keyframes (with ease in/out) and add a motion blur to it.

Pro DSLR color settings *before* you shoot!

Matching the color of two shots in Premiere Pro | Cinecom.net
When filming with two cameras there's a chance that the colors don't match in the editing. In this tutorial you will learn how to match the color of two shots.
It can get difficult to match the colors of two different shots. I remember how frustrating it was when I started filming.
But basically it's nothing more than looking and comparing. You need to look at different elements of your shots. Like the sky, the grass, the clothing of your subject, the skin tones, etc.
Once you can compare and adjust the correct levels, you're good to go.
And then there's the correct order of doing your color corrections. The three biggest things are color temperature, exposure and saturation. But all of these parameters will influence each other. Therefore it's important to change these settings in the correct order.
We'll start with the exposure and contrast as that will influence the saturation. Next we'll change the saturation as that will influence the color temperature. And finally we can change the color temperature.
