MXIII Quad Core Android TV Box Wifi Full HD Player 4K 3D

I wanted to start getting into reviewing items so bare with me as I venture into and improve on this goal, thank you.

I really like this unit far more than an older media player that didn't use Android. It boots up fairly quickly and is easy to navigate. It includes 2 launcher options, one will take you to the typical Android interface (Launcher3) while the other allows a TV friendly format. Pressing the Home button on the remote will allow you to select between them.

I have it connected using the WiFi connection (even though I did connect the physical LAN connection as well and tested it that was as well). I have a USB flash drive, a USB 3 hub, a mouse via said hub, power obviously and the HDMI connected during the video.
I am using digital audio through my Samsung unit (shown under the MXIII) to my TV. Audio was clear and showed no issues at all. Video playback via the network and USB worked without issue, only YouTube videos seemed to have an issue. When playing videos on YouTube the video looked degraded but then cleared up as shown in the video, it also would stutter at times. This is not a buffering issue with my internet connection as playback on my other devices is always smooth. I personally have no intentions of using it for YouTube so I am very happy with the overall performance. (Since I won't be using this for YouTube for ME it does not deserve to get less than 5 stars, your usage and opinion may vary for YOU). XBMC which is a very popular media app works well, I used the UPNP feature and it was a simple setup.
There is an included fishing game on the unit which plays back smoothly so for those that might want to play some common Android games this would be a nice option.
Just like any other Android based device once your account is linked it will allow you to get alerts and email, browse YouTube, etc etc. (I got a reminder chime via this unit a which I thought worth mentioning since it functions like other Android devices).
The RemoteIME apk installed quickly but it was a little odd to configure, the web page has some instructions on how that works. Once I input the IP of the MXIII (found using the Settings then Network option) I was able to select the IP/unit and control it remotely using the app. I mainly find it useful for the keyboard but it also works well in navigating but it'll be personal preference on what you find best works for your taste. I find the best way to use this device depends heavily on what aspect you are using at the time. I use the remote, the mouse, and the tablet at varying times and sometimes in combination. I prefer the tablet or mouse for the keyboard input as it makes typing quicker than using the remote. When using the mouse right clicking will take you back to the previous page in case anyone is not aware of that. The remote lacks a physical Play, Pause, Stop set of keys but since everything is available on screen that's really not an issue.
The included OTG and HDMI as well as component cables is a nice option and the included remote works well and is responsive. The unit as a whole is responsive as a matter of fact and it certainly will replace my old media player.

Side notes on the video:
I'm sorry the camera did not pick up 100% on everything on the screen menus although it got 99%, the initial bootup showed a bright white box with 2 options for the GUI selection but the camera did not catch those, otherwise most all worked without issue.

Please ignore the excessive wiring as I tend to plug and unplug things often enough not to have it all tucked away nice and neat!
