Speaker: Jason Scott Textfiles.com
In a world where scams are now considered as commonplace as functioning websites and cell phones, it's sometimes too easy to forget the insidiousness and complicated preparation that can go into a well-honed misleading attempt to gain financially from unknowing people. It also helps if you're this side of crazy. For over a decade, Jason Scott (and a group of others) were plagued by one such artist of misdirection, and he will present an dismaying, tragic, but hilarious recounting of what he learned along the way and what you yourself might find yourself confronted with as you go about your business. The story is true, the two billion dollars was demanded but not awarded, and the case got to court. Come hear a legal yarn with a side order of fried conspiracy theory, and walk away a little wiser.

Check out this GSM Based IMSI Catcher I built using the Ettus Research USRP.
(Cell Intercept...AKA IMSI catcher basic demo )
Open source IMSI catcher, with victim device a text messaging from phone number 1234 that says hacked. I have only my own phone attached. I did not open this BTS up for open registration because that is unethical.
Sorry for the video quality. I don't always edit my vids.
No... Im not doing this on a US network... before you ask. Testing in a controlled environment

Ettus Research has launched the Instant SDR Kit! This bundle sets the new standard for price, performance and "ease-of-use".
It contains a:
* USRP B100 transceiver (USB)
* WBX daughterboard (50 MHz — 2.2 GHz), and
* a bootable USB stick with a Live SDR Environment.
(Antenna not included.)
Monitor the radio spectrum, analyse RADAR signals, decode transmissions, receive satellite weather images, experiment with mobile communications, create a cognitive radio — explore the endless world of Software Defined Radio!
Ettus Research has contributed to the open-source Software Defined Radio community for over ten years; this is just the beginning... stay 'tuned'!

In this video, we are showing the OFDM spectrum. We start with a signal source and connect it to the packet encoder. After that, we connect the packet encoder to the OFDM mod block. We view the spectrum using the FFT sink. Once we are able to see the OFDM spectrum, we compare it to the OFDM spectral mask to make sure it is within the limits.
