Husqvarna 395xp vs Stihl ms661 c - Bench Talk

From earlier this year we have the same two saws featured in the "Grudge Match" video that was just posted.
I cannot say that the 661 m-tronic in insane-o form is a slouch. In fact, it flat gets with it once insane-o-ized. It is giving up ~ 2.5ccs of displacement as well. That is a lot in a piston port chainsaw engine.
Technically speaking, the crank that was in the 394xp was the same as that in a 288. The 395 version crank downsized the flywheel side taper and nut holding the flywheel captive.

The second day in my new strip and the siderod comes over to announce that the yarder will be arriving when they get done with the adjacent unit — "they have about 1/2 a day left". Wait What???... I thought it was a week out — least that was the initial time line, yesterday morning. Interesting scheduling don't you think? I humped it up with some long days and finished the strip and r-o-w in 4.
What we are doing here is spanning a swale that is about 65' wide complete with an old stump right at the apex of the high ground and then it drops in to another swale on the other side that I filled with logs. Redwoods sometimes save out if you can get them to hit relatively flat across a wrinkle in the ground like what is going on here. She save out for tree long logs a one shorty.
I did take a little time for a test drive on a 372XP big bore sleeper project. It is an older saw that did not see much use so it's slightly faded and doesn't look like much. I ported the cylinder to the extreme with the idea of running a 24" or 28" bar on a wood lot and smoking through the rounds. It has an early big bore kit that hails from Taiwan so the fit is tight and nikasil is good. This is the maiden voyage after the zip job so we are still dialing in the carburetor.
This saw is currently for sale and I think "wood" be a little butt kicker in the firewood lot and seems to pull a 32"er nicely.
