The Roland System 8 AIRA builds on its reputation and design from previous iterations, delivering remarkable flexibility, giving you the ability to access a varied palette of tones with unparalleled character and exceptional audio quality.
The System 8 AIRA features improved ACB technology, giving you more rein over your parameters and controls, giving you the ability to craft virtually any sound you desire. Also included is a built-in vocoder, arpeggiator and polyphonic 'Chord Memory' functions.

Duran Duran’s Nick Rhodes and the Roland JD-XA synths used on the Paper Gods world tour
Nick Rhodes knows a great synthesizer when he plays one. In this interview, he reveals how Roland gear has always played a big part in the Duran Duran sound, from the JUPITER-4 used on Rio right through to the new JD-XA analog/digital crossover synth powering their Paper Gods world tour. “I’m very excited about it, ” he says of the latter, “because it can do something that no other synthesizer can do…”

Grandmother is the latest semi-modular analog synth from Moog. There have been increasingly more and more semi modular synths released in recent years and the demand for rewiring synths and interfacing them with other modular gear grows.
In this clip I explore what's special about Moog's Grandmother, and it turns out there's quite a lot there, especially if you look beneath the surface. For example, while the front panel seems to show only two oscillators and one envelope, in reality, Grandmother has three fully functioning volt/octave oscillators (four if you count the self resonating filter), two and even three envelopes, and is capable of being played paraphonically.
