The D-510A is a highly specialized coiling machine used in winding extremely high density coils. The products typically wound on this machine are copper or fiber optic umbilical cables for military applications.
This highly precise machine produces coils that can approach 92% density, are self-supporting, and perfectly cylindrical in shape. These coils can be then dispensed from the inside or the outside of the coil, and can be sized to fit into the head of torpedoes or missiles.

Comments here regarding wire length were correct. My short circuit tests are invalid. The difference of internal resistance of wire between the two coils, 0.4 ohm dome vs 0.1 ohm pancake. Subsequent tests revealed very similar Lenz drag with all factors considered. The only really odd thing I noted was a magnet moving within the half sphere produced little to no voltage at all. It's a quiet zone so to speak. So as not to mislead, I will be posting a follow up video explaining where I faulted. Further testing will be done. For now, don't get as excited as I was in this video. :\

Save them. We may need to repost them to keep them in circulation if LaPoint ever takes them down. The reason for my concern is the series should have been 5 or 6 videos. He cancelled the remainder of the series because he says he's too busy with work. Boy do I hear that loud and clear. I just hope he remains true to his word and leaves the existing ones in place.

Bifilar Pancakes Inductive Coupling
Experiment with inductive coupling between single and bifilar combinations of coils.
Both bifilar coils ar connected as per Nikola Tesla patent. Both are 12ga wire and 8" outer dia. Transmitting coil being powered by ZVS circuit idling at 70mA at 12V. During this test voltage has been increased to 24VDC.
Toroid came from PSU and half of the original windings were removed. ZVS capacitor 220nF/250V, parallel capacitor for coil has been selected experimentally and it's value will depend on coil parameters. I used 14Ga household electrical wire secured with super glue.

Progress is followed showing various stages of lamination being replaced in a 3, 500 kW generator. Commutator undercutting is demonstrated using a laser guided tool on a large rotor. The winding and insulating of a variety of AC and DC armatures is demonstrated, along with the wedging and insertion of coils in a variety of newly wound stators.
