Korg Minilogue Impressions/Techniques/Review
(EDIT 1/26/16: In this video I had only had the Minlogue for 24 hours so there are a few mistakes. I misunderstood how to edit the gate length, latch the arp and process external audio through the VCA and VCF. Check out my follow up video for more accurate information. Also, in great news, the onboard delay has been improved dramatically with a software update. As of version 1.04 the unwanted noise is basically gone and the overall sound of the delay is improved. It also seems like the resolution on the time is better, which allows you to create chorus like sounds using motion sequencing.)
First time I have done a video like this. More of a review/overview of the synth than a musical demo. There is a fair amount of talking, but some good sounds as well. Let me know if there is anything else you'd like me to explore in a follow up video.
Here is an index if you want to skip over me talking:
5:33 Monophonic Filter Sweeps
11:00 Polyphonic Filter Sweeps
13:00 Playing the Filter as an Oscillator
19:30 Arpeggiator Latch
23:40 Processing External Audio
28:50 Noisy Delay
31:50 Reese Bass
34:50 My patches
And a few corrections. First of all, I said I was the only member of the Atlanta Synthesizer club with a Minilogue but I obviously forgot Richard Devine, although I am sure that he is too busy to waste his time making a boring video like this. Also at one point I refer to the high pass cutoff as a high cut, which is obviously incorrect. Freudian slip, because a high cut is what I wish the delay had but in fact it does not.
Stay tuned for more Minilogue videos. Let me know in the comments what you'd like to see next!
