Monjayaki (もんじゃ焼き?) (often called simply "monja") is a type of Japanese pan-fried batter with various ingredients. It is similar to okonomiyaki but monjayaki, a specialty of the Kantō region, is made with a dough more liquid than is okonomiyaki. The ingredients are finely chopped and mixed into the batter before frying. The mixture is far runnier than okonomiyaki, and it has a consistency comparable to a pool of melted cheese when cooked. It is then eaten directly off the grill using a small metal spatula. Many monjayaki restaurants can be found in the Tsukishima district of Tokyo, where the dish is said to have originated. Most also serve regular okonomiyaki. (Source Wikipedia)

Omurice is a fluffy egg omelet upside down served on top of fried rice.
I've been watching this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xAawGfEhzf4 since 2010and promised myself that someday when I visit Japan I HAVE to go and try out this particular restaurant named Kichi-kichi ( http://kichi2.net/menu ) located in Kyoto. So yes, it's a dream come true for me!!
The chef itself is very kind & super skilled, and I think he really enjoy being filmed that he put on some show for a show-off, haha.
FOR MORE INFO ON LOCATION ETC, I'VE WRITTEN IT HERE: http://umifadilah.com/eats/2013/3/the-most-awesome-omurice

As profiled in "The Streets of Heavenly Dumplings, " in the June issue of Condé Nast Traveler, when Jean-Georges Vongerichten craves something local and delicious in Shanghai, he heads for the vendors in the French Concession. Here, some scenes from the street show by Andrew Rowat for Condé Nast Traveler

It's said this dish is relative of okonomiyaki(I don't really know about it though).
We order 3 dishes which I forgot the name. And since all menu is written in Japanese, we ask the most popular(ichiban ninki) and their recommended menu(Osusume no menu). and the 3rd one is just a beef and bean sprout(I don't know the name, my friend take our next table's food and show it to waiters).
Delicious? of course, especially the 2nd one, it's taste and smell like vegetable pizza.
It's just small shop in small alley, nearest subway is Tsukishima subway station which run Oedo and Yurakucho Line

This street vendor sells a popular street food snack called Jian Bing. This is a popular snack in northern parts of China. I was surprised this popular snack was being sold in southern China, in the city of Guangzhou. When I had the videocam on her, people were equally as interested in my video activity as they were in ordering a Jian Bing.
