HELICOIL® thread inserts create high-strength fastenings in metal low-strength materials and have been well established on the market for about 60 years.
The HELICOIL® Plus Screwlock has the same benefits regarding the threads as the HELICOIL® Plus Free Running and it is confirming to DIN 8140-b.
Additionally an integrated screw clamping area serves as a screw-lock.
The screw clamping is realised by one or more polygone formed windings that clamp the flanks of the screwed-in screws. The result is an elastic frictional resistance.

The Recoil screw-locking insert is designed to provide a screw-locking feature which will retain screws or bolts under the most severe vibration or varying temperature conditions.
The insert locking configuration comprises a series of uniquely designed locking chords which, upon the engagement of a screw or bolt, deflect radially to permit the installation of the bolt. Upon bolt entry, these straight segments are flexed outwardly, creating pressure on the bolt. This pressure is applied between the flanks of the bolt thread so that contact area is maximized.
Locking inserts retain locking torque over numerous assembly cycles. Refer to relevant specifications for insert life. Each Recoil screw-locking insert type has a specifically designed locking configuration. This ensures that the insert meets its design specification requirements.
Therefore the shape, depth, and number of locking chords will inevitably vary for differing thread types and sizes.
NOTE: Recoil locking inserts are supplied coloured in a red surface dye as standard for differentiation from standard inserts.

IMTEC® refers to "In-Moulding Technology" and describes the in-moulding of metal thread inserts with plastics. Before the part is produced, the IMTEC® moulded inserts are placed into the mould manually or by means of a handling system. Only the core pins of the injection mould have to be geometrically adapted to the IMTEC® moulded inserts. The example shows IMTEC® CO thread inserts made from an asymmetrically rolled stainless steel A2, which is coiled to a fixed bushing with one flange-type extension.

"Can a broken nut can be fixed with baking soda and super glue?" Lou, a singer here in Athens, Ohio, brought this question to Dan Erlewine (along with the broken nut on his Yamaha guitar). As it turns out, the answer is yes and no...

The innovative thread-lock principle ensures a secure threaded connection, even in adverse conditions and with repeated screwing.
Your benefits at a glance — Self-locking locknut — Reusable — Complete anti-rotation lock — Adjusting nut and loss prevention — Simple to use — Efficient application — reduction of maintenance costs
Screws are exposed to continuous vibrations and dynamic loads in many applications. These loads place particular demands on the fastening technology. When nuts are used, they can often unintentionally loosen independently thus causing the connection to fail, which can sometimes have considerable consequences on the safety of the machine and that of individuals.
The SAPER LOCK® nut combines the loss prevention function with the anti-rotation lock, thus ensuring that the preload force and clamping force in the connection are simultaneously maintained.
This is an important part of the screw connection, ensuring that the application is safe and which pays off in the end.
