Werkstattsauger haben oft das Problem dass sich der Filter schnell zusetzt und das Fassungsvermögen sehr klein ist. Um diese Probleme zu lösen habe ich meinem Nass- Trockensauger einen neuen Behälter gebaut. In diesen integriert ist ein Zyklonabscheider bzw. Fliehkraftabscheider. Der Sammelbehälter selbst besteht aus einem Blechfass mit 60l Fassungsvermögen.

Harbor Freight 2HP Dust Collector Modification Overview

It was time to empty the dust collector, so I thought I'd give you a tour of the mods I made.

(For the "lateral offset" parameter, enter the difference between the radius of the barrel and the radius of the pipe. Example: A 30" barrel (radius 15") and a 5" pipe (radius 2.5") would yield a lateral offset of 12.5)

Probably the coolest project I've built so far. It has already proven to be useful in- and outside the shop. Also the first time I could use the metal lathe.
By the way, this was no cheap project. All materials together cost about 200€, but still totally worth the investment!

Thien Baffle Third Stage Dust Collection

Adding a third stage to my dust collection just on the line for the planer. This will put the bulk of the waste into a container that's easy to empty and make it much less likely that I will overflow the bin on my cyclone into the filters.
